The Bust of Sir Michael Atiyah was made by
Scottish artist David Annand, brother of Duncan Annand, one of the architects
who designed the Institute. The bust was a gift from the architects, Annand
and Mustoe, in 1995. Sir Michael, who is also Master of Trinity College,
posed for six hours while the likeness was being created.
Other works by David Annand, who is best known for his animal sculptures, include a group of leaping deer at Dundee Technological Park, and sculptures for a Beatrix Potter Garden (Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust). |
