Spitalfields Day

8th October 2007

Organisers: Simon Hands (Swansea University), Nick Dorey (DAMTP Cambridge) and Niall MacKay (York University)

Gauge Theory, String Theory and Unification

The talks are aimed at final year undergraduate/beginning postgraduate students in particle physics or mathematics, and will review prospects for learning more about fundamental physics at the smallest scales, via both collider experiments at LHC, and recent progress in the mathematics underlying gauge field theory and string theory which promises to unify our understanding of particle physics and gravity.
