Abstract

We investigate Chern-Simons theories coupling to vector matter. These kinds of models are quite interesting in the following sense. Firstly, they provide us with infinitely many interacting conformal field theories (CFT) with Lagrangian description, which enables us to study CFT in a direct calculation. Secondly, they are likely to be dual to higher spin theories in AdS4 beyond the conjecture by Klebanov-Polyakov. After a belief introduction of this background, I will talk about U(N) Chern-Simons theories coupling to vector-like (fundamental/anti-fundamental) matter(boson or fermion). It turns out that these kinds of models can be exactly solved in the 't Hooft limit by employing a standard large N technique. I will explain the details on this when the matter includes pure fermion or boson. If time permits, I will talk about the case including both in a supersymmetric way, which is work in progress.
