Abstract

In this talk we review the known higher-derivative couplings in supergravity with eight supercharges in 4 and 5 space-time dimensions. These couplings play an important role in deriving the sub-leading corrections to BPS black hole entropy. It is demonstrated how an off-shell 4D/5D connection clarifies previous results and leads to new insights.
