With recent dramatic developments in computer technology, the High Performance Computing (HPC) community has entered the realm of so-called peta-scale computing. This is expected to have far-reaching consequences for turbulence research. The purpose of this one-day meeting is to help the turbulence research community make the best use of this unprecedented development in computer power, and use it to improve our understanding of the nature of high Reynolds number turbulence. The meeting will feature invited lectures by international experts in computer science and HPC turbulence research.
