Abstract
The RTT airport baggage x-ray tomography system uses an unusual geometry in which the detector array is offset from the circle on which the sources lie. Rather than a single rotating source the sources are switched on and off. This enables the system to operate at the high speed required for airport baggage scanning but presents challenges for reconstruction. We discuss the strategy for choosing the source firing sequence and a present a reconstruction algorithm using rebinning on to multiple curved surfaces.
