Critical conductance distributions at the localization-delocalization transitions
AbstractDue to mesoscopic fluctuations, not the conductance but the distribution of the conductance becomes importantto study the quantum transport phenomena. We review and report the distributions of conductance at various types of localization-delocalization transitions, such as the Anderson transitions in three dimensions, the quantum Hall transition, and the quantum spin Hall transition. Reflecting the multifractal nature of the wave functions at the localization-delocalization transitions, the distributions take peculiar form, which is scale and model independent. We also examine the conductance distributions in the presence of perfectly conducting channels.
