Progress on QCD at an infinite number of colours

At an infinite number of colours, N, various phase transitions occur in QCD, replacing either smooth crossovers, or phase transitions at finite N. Some of these transitions obey large N universally, raising the prospect of bridging analytically the gap between short and long distance physics in planar QCD.
