Charge separation phenomenon in Big Bang and Little Bang (RHIC) during the QCD phase transistion
Seminar Room 1, Newton Institute
We discuss a novel the "charge separation phenomena " which may happen during the QCD phase transition. This effect is due to the anomalous terms in the effective lagrangian in the presence of nonzero chemical potential and the so-called theta term. There is a number of cosmological/astrophysical observations (such as similarity of dark matter and baryon densities in universe) supporting this picture. There are also preliminary results from RHIC which also apparently demonstrate that the separation of charges takes place if some conditions are met.
