This purpose of this week is to provide opportunity to discuss future directions of this rapidly-moving field. It is a workshop rather than a conference, so more people will be participating in the chaired and informal discussions than will speak, though the discussions will be introduced by presentations that review our present position and expose areas of ignorance. As it will be embedded in the longer Newton Institute Programme, other biophysicists and mathematicians in related areas will be able to participate as well as the folding community itself.
