Holographic inhomogeneous non-equilibrium dynamics

Abstract: 
One holographic model for a strongly coupled fluid thermalizing from afar-from-equilibrium initialstate is obtained by a letting a shell of matter gravitationally collapse in AdS to a form black brane. Bhattacharyya and Minwalla studied this analytically using a weak field approximation. We include inhomogeneities into this model in a long wavelength approximation. We compare the evolution with a free streaming model and study the approcah to hydrodynamics. Some motivation comes from the physics of heavy ion collisions.
