The Fields Medal is officially known as the International Medal for Outstanding Discoveries in Mathematics. It is awarded every four years at the International Congress of the International Mathematical Union to two, three or four mathematicians aged under 40. Since the Institute opened, 30 winners of the Fields Medal have attended our programmes.
