Whereas resurgence was born within the context of nonlinear differential equations, it has always been associated to the study of perturbative series in quantum theories. In fact, the asymptotic nature of these perturbative expansions has been known for more than half a century. In the last decade there has been a renewed and fast-growing interest in resurgence and asymptotics, specially on what concerns the myriad of applications to physical theories: quantum mechanics, quantum field theory, gauge theory, lattice theory, string theory, instantons, renormalons, integrability, random matrices, the theory of quantization, quantum topology, supersymmetry, AdS/CFT, localization, the topological recursion, wall-crossing formulae, to name just a few.
The goal of this workshop on Physical Resurgence is to bring together experts in these diverse fields, physicists and mathematicians, to discuss forefront problems pertaining to quantization and resurgence as applied to quantum, gauge, field, and string theories. In particular we are interested in universal aspects of resurgence and hence on establishing a “resurgent dictionary” between different (physical) applications. We hope this will result in the exchange of new ideas and techniques, and in the identification of the salient and truly significant problems to be tackled in the near future.
This workshop will take place in Jock Colville Hall at Churchill College, Cambridge, which is a short walk from the Isaac Newton Institute.
The Registration Package includes admission to all seminars, lunches and refreshments on the days that lectures take place (Monday - Friday), wine reception and formal dinner, but does not include other meals or accommodation.

The Accommodation Package includes a registration fee, bed and breakfast accommodation at Churchill College from the evening of Sunday to breakfast on Saturday, together with lunches and refreshments during the days that lectures take place (Monday - Friday). The formal dinner is also included, but no other evening meals

Participants on the Accommodation Package or Registration Package, including organisers and speakers, are automatically included in this event. For all remaining participants who would like to attend, such as programme participants, the above charge will apply.
Accommodation in single study bedrooms with shared facilities and breakfast are provided at Churchill College.
Lunch Lunch timings and location will be confirmed with timetable.
Evening Meal Participants are free to make their own arrangements for dinner.

The Isaac Newton Institute is a national and international visitor research institute. It runs research programmes on selected themes in mathematics and the mathematical sciences with applications over a wide range of science and technology. It attracts leading mathematical scientists from the UK and overseas to interact in research over an extended period.
