Almost-periodic and other ergodic problems

we have been made aware of a very convincing phone scam that is focusing on our workshop participants. Participants may be contacted by phone by a firm called Business Travel Management to arrange accommodation for workshops and/or programmes.  This includes a request to enter credit card information.

Please note, INI will never contact you over the phone requesting card details. We take all payments via the University of Cambridge Online store

If you have been contacted by this company please contact us as soon as possible.

7th April 2015 to 10th April 2015

Organisers: Svetlana Jitomirskaya (University of California, Irvine) and Ilya Kachkovskiy (University of California, Irvine)

Workshop Theme

This workshop will bring together scientists working at the front edges of the area of almost periodic operators, with a goal of providing the audience with overview of the state of the art, as well as fostering the exchange of ideas. The field has seen remarkable breakthroughs in the last two decades, some of which were recognized by Avila's 2014 Fields medal. Being in between random and periodic in various ways, the area strongly benefits from the ideas coming from researchers working in two other themes of the program, and this will be reflected at the meeting. The workshop will also feature shorter talks by talented young researchers.

The provisional list of speakers includes

  • A. Avila (Rio and Paris)
  • C.Bjerklov (Stockholm)
  • M. Goldstein (Toronto)
  • A. Gorodetsky (Irvine)
  • Y.Karpeshina (Alabama)
  • R. Krikorian (Paris)
  • S. Nakamura (Tokyo)
  • M. Shamis (Weitzman)
  • A. Sodin (Tel Aviv)
  • J. Wang (Nanjing)
  • J. You (Nanjing)
  • Q. Zhou (Paris)
