What are the Facilities for Programme Visitors?

Each office desk is equipped with a desktop PC running Windows 7 that has a variety of software packages installed.

If you have not been allocated an office, a shared working area is available upstairs in the mezzanine. (We do not currently provide desktop PCs in public areas.)

Using your own computer

If you bring a laptop (or another computing device such as a tablet or smartphone), you are welcome to use it here. You may connect using the labelled network points in your office, or via wireless.

If you wish, in your office, you may use the desktop PC monitor with your laptop. Your laptop must have a VGA port (or a suitable adapter).

There are tables with electrical power sockets in the central upstairs mezzanine area.

For instructions on connecting your machine, see: laptop and wireless

Note: Your machine will be placed behind a NAT firewall. Outgoing connections will appear to come from the firewall. All incoming connections are blocked. Some applications may not work correctly in this environment.
