Session Title:
Immunology, Ecology and Epidemiology (main themes)
Abstract:
I will show that many biological systems such as predator-prey models with harvesting, SIRS epidemiological models with nonlinear incidence rate, epidemiological models with constant removal rate of the infectives, predator-prey models with nonmonotonic functional response, predator-prey models with nonlinear mortality rate, etc. exhibit
codimension two bifurcations which include Hopf, saddle-node, and homoclinic bifurcations. Examples of codimension three bifurcations will also be given.
