Phase field models for multiphase flow with applications to cell motility

In this lecture I will introduce the diffuse interface model for such systems. One advantage is the simple coupling to additional physical effects. In particular, I will show how to account for species concentrations in the bulk phases and on the interface. The approach will be illustrated by numerical simulation of endocytosis and cell motility.
